I can see OotD but, I cannot use it.

I have OotD on my monitor and I can see it just fine. It shows all of my appointments etc. I cannot edit anything by clicking on the calendar; it is as if it is not even “posted” to my desktop. I cannot use the sidebar to the right either; again it is although it is truly “transparent”.

I have this exact same problem with the added 'bonus' of updated items in the calendar not appearing until both Outlook and OOTD are restarted.
any suggestions?

I am having the same problem as well. It worked for about 2 months before it started doing this. I have multiple Instances and I can see them all and see my appointments, but the color coding is gone and I cannot click on it or add appointments. Let me know if you know the solution. Thanks.

I have a similar problem in that I can post one change to OotD and then can't add anymore or use the sidebar until I shut it down and restart. I can use the sidebar and look at calendar items as long as I don't make and save any changes. It works fine after I restart the program. It does save changes to my Outlook 2007 calendar. Any help would be appreciated. I love the program and used it easily with XP. Not so easy with Vista.

Just downloaded this program, but I'm having the same issue. Can see it, but can't edit/click on it.
Does the author monitor this forum? I don't see any suggestions from him.

I do monitor the forum, i have been a little busy as of late though. The issue a known problem, but I do not have a fix for it yet. It is an issue with the Outlook view control rather than my software itself. I know this because when I've been able to reproduce this problem, the scrollbar in the calendar still works, but I can't click anything in the calendar. Also, it seems more prevalent when you have more than 1 monitor.

Hi, just another set of circumstances to possibly help with a fix (OS XP). Mine worked great for over a year when using a single monitor. As soon as I added a second monitor, I started seeing this problem, can't interact with it in any way, but it does immediately update with any changes in Outlook. If I disable the second monitor, works again. Good luck and thanks for a very good program.
P.S. 2010-07-26; Now installed on new W7 laptop with single screen. Get absolutely NO interaction with it at all, but can view it with no problems.
Found out that on my W7, it's very picky on what is running first. If OOTDT runs before Outlook 07, it doesn't work other than as a display. If Outlook runs first and is NOT shutdown and then OOTDT is started, runs fine. If Outlook is shutdown at any point, must restart OOTDT for it to be interactive. At least this works for me, good luck to all.

My symptom is slightly different. It works fine for hours, then it goes dead and while I can see everything I cannot move the scroll bar nor get any reaction from any part of the program. I have to restart it, i.e. can't edit, can't bring up a righ click menu, can't expand of collapse, etc. I think this may hve started when I put some gadgets on my desktop (using Windows 7 Ultimate 64).
While I'm at it, it would be great to be able to save the Customize Current View/Filter/Advanced/Field (due date)/Condition (on or before)/Value (today) which filters out the Tasks that are not due nor started, i.e. I don't want to see them in my tasks since they are not being used now, for example, on Valentines day I send flowers to my girls so set a task that I do not need to see until a week before Valentines. I have to reset this every time I start OotD, which is annoying. Other than that, love the program.
One feature request, it would be great to have a popup of the task show when I hover over it, so I can see the task and notes, and then it disappears when I stope hovering.

Great concept terrible implementation. I have the same problems. Just installed, looks great on desktop. Won't update, and I can't interact with it. So basically it is useless. I do have 2 monitors, hope this helps in diagnosing your problem. Please delete my account from your server, just uninstalled the program.

Outlook on the Desktop is a good software which needs focused attention to become a great software.
Two systems, one problem:
OOTD 1.6.0 (x86) works brilliantly when my phone is syncronized over Ovi Suite to Outlook 2007 (SP2 ENG) with Win 7 (Home-Premium ENG) 32bit on 1366x768 display with a 1080x1920 extension to the left (yes, portrait, programmer mode, you know the drill). CPU is Core i5 M430 with Nvidia GT 240M GPU.
OOTD 1.6.0 (x86) syncronizes and shows the calendar brilliantly but runs semi-transparent and click-through-fashion when in tandem with Outlook 2007 (SP2 ENG) with Win XP 32bit (Home Edition SP3 TR) on 1024x600 display with a 900x1440 extension to the right (yes, again portrait, learning some parallel programming on these displays). CPU is Atom N280, basic netbook specs. It behaves the same even when external monitor disabled on this system.
Second bug: When I go into preferences and try to move it to left, it disappears and moving it to the right afterwards doesn't solve it. Doubleclicking on system tray icon doesn't work.
Hope this will help with reproducing the problem, inspecting the bug and coming up with a new version. Will definitely download immediately.
One addition: I've been facing the widespread "Systray can't show half or more of the icons" problem on XP 32bit for quite some time and found the cure at winhlp.com. Logging off and then on again solved the issue and there are my systray icons. After doing that, when I disabled external display, OOTD started working like a charm. This wasn't the case till the log-off-log-on event. Maybe something wrong with the systray icon queue (assuming it has a queue?)

Mike, I have Windows 7 Professional and Office 2010 all in spanish.
It work fine in other views, for example, i can read my email and open and modified, but I have a view that I need, Calendar -> Calendar. It show me fine but can't edit or add from the desktop. I hope you can solve this bug, i really like the software.
Congratulations for the idea.

edit: nm, got it working, may want to mention in the FAQ that the fix has to be manually requested on that KB article and that it at this time is not being deployed through windows update until service pack 1 is released I guess.
