Can't edit directly on desktop

I have windows 7 and Outlook 2010. The calendar shows up on my desktop, but i can't directly write on it. I can't edit anything on the calendar directly from the desktop. i can open Outlook 2010 and edit it and it will show up on the desktop after i edit it inside the Outlook 2010, but i can't edit it without opening Outlook 2010. Any solutions??

how can u directly edit with OotD ? under outlook view -> calendar: the setting u can't directly edit it from desktop. the only time u can edit is outlook view -> active: but with this u can't view the calendar. help pls!

I can not either edit in the calendar view and is what I like. I hope anyone could solve the problem
