Outlook reminder doesn't work anymore
Hi guys,
the Outlook reminder used to work perfectly but since the last few weeks it just doesn't remind me anymore. I tried to reinstall Outlook on the Desktop but that didn't fix the problem. The weird thing is that when I start Outlook the reminder just works fine.
There is also another bug that appeared suddenly: Everytime I try to edit anything in the calendar by doubleclicking on it outlook opens. Now, when i go close outlook and go back to the desktop, outlook on the desktop is like transparent. I can not click on anything.
I never had these bugs before thy just appeared last week. Is there any update for Outlook that makes in incompatible with outlook on the desktop?
PS: I use Outlook 2007 and Windows XP (PE) SP3

did you make any changes to your system recently? windows updates, software installation? Sounds like something changed, but I'm not sure what. You can always try doing a system restore to a day that it was working to see if that fixes the problem for you.

No, I don't think, I made any changes to the system.
But I just realised that whenever I can not click on anything (like mentioned before) the outlook.exe can not be found in the task manager. So it just seems like whenever I open outlook and close it again it stops running in the background as it is supposed to do.

I have experienced the same issue. Outlook 2007/XP Pro SP3. After installing Outlook on the Desktop, I noticed that my Desktop Alert stopped working. I would still hear a sound and see the envelope that notifies me of new mail, but the opaque box showing the messages would no longer appear.
I went into my Outlook Options to verify that it was enabled and when I selected to Preview the function, nothing happened. I tried (one at a time) restarting Outlook; Exiting OotD; and restarting Outlook again with no change. I then uninstalled OotD; restarted Outlook and my Desktop Alert is back.
I'm not sure why the program is overriding this function, but unfortunately it's too important to me to lose. If this gets fixed, I would love to give it a try again
.
ps - I also experienced a lockup of the calendar after editing an event and had to close and restart OotD to get it functioning again. I also prefer to view my Calendar Weekly - that is how it is selected in Outlook. I would love to have that feature in OotD as well.
Thanks!
