OotD Overrides Custom Defined Views in the Default Outlook Calendar
First off, very good for freeware so thanks so much for this. I'll donate soon for sure!
I prefer a different view (timeline view) in my outlook Calendar. I have created a custom view to do this. The problem I'm having is that custom views OTHER than DAY/WEEK/MONTH chosen for my calendar do not appear when opening OotD. In fact opening OotD forces my existing Outlook view preference to change, in Outlook, to the default DAY/WEEK/MONTH view that OotD last used.
I'll add some testing I have done. Hopefully it'll help:
Outlook Version = 2003 SP2
* Note that the calendar in question is the reminder-post default calendar for the PST in which my mail is recieved.
The Oulook view settings I am using are as follows:
View Type chosen at creation = Timeline
Canbe used on = All Calendar Folders
Fields: Start, End
Group By: Catagories (ascending)
Filter: Off
Other Settings: (Default Options)
Test Setup: OotD closed; Custom view is already applied to my default calendar.
Open outlook, custom Calendar displays OK. Close Outlook. Open OotD, Calendar view defaults to last DAY/WEEK/MONTH view I used in Outlook/OotD. Exit OotD. Open Outlook, Calendar has reset to last DAY/WEEK/MONTH view displayed by OotD. Must manually change back to Timeline custom view in Outlook. There is no way to change my calendar view
I have created another calendar within my PST and applied the same custom Timeline view to it. OotD works just fine with the custom view in this calendar. Only the default calendar exhibits this behavior. As some extended testing I tried a custom Icon view on my Inbox using the procedure above. Icons are not an Inbox default view setting. OotD worked absolutely fine with a brand new defined Icon view in this manner. This leads me to believe (possible falsely) that other defined views are possible in the calendar as well.
Right now i am using a second calendar but can no longer set reminders for myself. Just wondering if there is an easy fix for this. Sorry for the wall of text :P

Very interesting issue .. although I'm not too sure I have that much control over the view OotD uses for the default calendar. I will definitely look into though.

In my opinion the best software to see the time and date on computer is time clocks. The best thing I like in this software is its simplicity in itself. Everyone can use it as it is user friendly and offering numerous options in it.
